Prof. Sergio Terzi

Sergio is currently Associate Professor of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering. Born in 1977, he got his B.S. in Industrial Engineering (Production Management) in 1999 at University of Castellanza (Italy). Then, he got his Master in Business Administration (Laurea in Economics and Management) in 2001 from the same university. From 2002 to 2005 he was phd candidate at Politecnico di Milano and University of Nancy (France), defending his phd thesis on May 2005 on PLM. From 2005 to 2014 he was researcher and assistant professor at University of Bergamo, being also visiting professor at University of Lyon (France). Member of the IFIP WG 5.1 and 5.7, he has acted as chairman of several conferences and workshops. He is author of 2 books and more than 120 papers at international level. He is member of the editorial board of the International Journal on PLM, as well as Guest Editor of several Special Issues and industrial magazines. He has participated and coordinated several research projects, most of them at European level. From 2009 to 2013 he was the Dissemination Manager of the LeanPPD project, in which the SBCE Game was originally developed. His competences spread from operations management, to product design, with a particular focus on the adoption of IT solutions. He is used to work as consultant for national and international companies, in the context of product development, product lifecycle management and business process re-engineering. He is also the Director of the GeCo Observatory, an Italian research initiative in the area of engineering and design management.
